Trends today and in the near future

Design is part of everyday life, and at the same time conditions it.
What was seen at the Supersalone dictates the guidelines of living today and in the near future, capturing the stimuli that are already perceptible in the world.
Some are only mentioned, and we will see them develop soon, others are slow trends, already rooted and with a long-term future.

This is the case of trend number one: sustainability, in the particular sense of respect for nature and the environment.
This is not a new but powerful theme, which pervades every aspect of life at a global level, and which the pandemic has helped to highlight, teaching everyone that our every action has consequences and that we are all really connected to each other, not just to the web.
Attention to the environment means recycling but also the presence of green inside and outside the inhabited spaces.
The Salon itself has become the scene of these essential initiatives, as if to say “let’s create the conditions for life, as a premise to our work”.

All-round geometries and shapes

The first trade fair in the post-pandemic era could not avoid presenting solutions that allow a new vision of work.
For months there has been a lot of talk about home-working, with its different meanings and even with its partial results, and the response of the design world has not been long in coming, bringing to the fair integrated solutions that make the home a versatile space, looking for a balance between personal life and work, but also the office a more welcoming place, with the comforts of home.

This is also part of the fluid world in which we live, where borders are blurred.
On the other hand, the indoor environment is inspired by nature and is populated by sinuous shapes, furniture with rounded corners that are more in tune with the person.
Not surprisingly, they have always been preferred in wellness contexts; today, perhaps, it is precisely a search for well-being that moves designers and the market.
It is no longer a season of rigour and impositions, square elements but not even neutral colors: the color prevails, in bright colors, full, and strong combinations, designed to give energy and character to a place.
