The eclipse optical-astronomical event
Since ancient times, and in most civilizations of the world, the eclipse has represented an admirable event, extraordinary and terrible at the same time, a sign of an upheaval of the natural order.
From the ancient Egyptians to the Maya, from the Chinese, who already from the second millennium B.C. it seems they were able to predict the eclipses, to the classical world of Greece and Rome, the phenomenon of the stars that are not seen, kidnapped from their natural place or held as a sign of the wrath of the gods, struck the imagination of man, who can only be fascinated by it.
Even today, although we can observe and scientifically explain the eclipses as a result of an alignment (recurrent) between planets and satellites with a light source (such as a star), the passage of a celestial body in the cone of shadow that is formed remains a phenomenon that never ceases to inspire, forcing everyone to stop, to remain in admiration of the sky.
Where does the inspiration come from?
It is from this slow celestial movement that the idea of the ECLIPSIS Collection was born, presented in the IMAGO catalog: contemporary designers have grasped the aesthetic side of the natural phenomenon.
The spectacle of the sky thus translates into a set of geometric shapes in motion, among which the curved line prevails, with circles (echo of celestial bodies), semicircles and arches in the round, freeing the event from any sense of impending tragedy.
In this way, the movement of a slow drift of elements flowing on different levels, almost guided by a light dance step, is captured, in search of a balance between linear shapes and sandy colors, presented in palettes, in which the ton-sur-ton effect prevails.
The pinks range from beige to powder pink, to mauve, the blue from Prussian blue to sugar paper, the backgrounds from pearl gray to ivory, from dove gray to cream. Abstract paintings are made up where, with the eyes of the imagination, we can read the profiles of an architectural interior, or a cross-section of an imaginary city.
The inspiration that gives life to our modern design rugs
From the creative idea to the design, translating a concept into the language of weaving. This is how we create luxury rugs that are perfectly in tune with a general interior design idea.
