Catalog I CLASSICI collection Opera design Botticelli
It takes its name from one of the most famous artists of the Italian Renaissance: the “Botticelli” rug is part of the OPERA collection from the “I Classici” catalog, a tribute to the art that makes Italy great all over the world.
It is made of Tencel (100%), yarn with a silky sheen, woven with the hand-knotted technique, with an oriental knot.
The inspiration for this design comes from two masterpieces of the great painter, symbolic works of Florence between the 15th and 16th centuries: the “Birth of Venus” and the “Spring”, interpreted in a current key, according to a process of abstraction of forms.
The two rugs reflect the classic monochromatic choice of neutral tones, a sand beige, referring to the dominant colors of the shell and the diaphanous skin of the goddess, and a gray-green that recalls the background of the vegetation on which stand the dancing figures of Spring.
Botticelli design color customization
Even to the less attentive eye, of these paintings are impressed by the sense of grace that dominates the gestures of the protagonists of the two scenes, the gracefulness of bodies and clothing, and the detail of the subtle features of the design that creates dynamic images.
This effect is particularly evident in the veils, in the gathered hair, in the waves of the sea, in the breath of the winds, and in the flowers that are scattered in the air.
Precisely these hints give rise to the volutes that make up the large central decoration of the panel and the motifs positioned symmetrically in the four corners.
Taking advantage of the effect of the light-dark tone-sur-ton palette, accentuated by the brightness of the yarns, there are elements reminiscent of the terrestrial dominance of the flora and the air, with the breath of the winds.
