Inside a custom rug design. And what inspired it.
Platinum Custom Rugs is pure rug design. The design of shapes and materials that ideally embrace each other in the same inspiration, guided by the human hand. After all, a rug is like an idea: it is born to amaze, it is made of beauty, but it can transform and continue to live in other forms. We define it as a “unique piece” because in its infinite possibilities of customization, it will always be different in its uniqueness.
Dolores Toniolo, an interior designer from Vicenza with whom we have been collaborating for several years, recognized herself in this vision and wanted to transform one of our handmade tufted rugs, Eclipsis.Tre from the Imago collection, to adapt it to the needs of a client in their luxurious residence in Vicenza.
Handmade tufted rugs shaped by creativity
Metamorphosis is the soul of handmade tufted rugs. In fact, the original design of the Eclipsis.Tre model envisages a rectangular shape with dimensions ranging from 140×200 cm up to 300×400 cm, made of very different yarns. Thanks to Dolores Toniolo’s inspiration and the experience of Platinum Custom Rugs’ Style Office, the native version was modified, and the rug took on a new round shape, necessary for the client’s needs and perfectly integrated with the living room’s decor to which it was destined. The circular design, in fact, allows the client to have a free opening of the terrace door.
What makes this custom rug design unique and exclusive is above all the high-quality production: Eclipsis.Tre is hand-tufted, a handmade process that guarantees great resistance and durability over time, and is made entirely of wool, a precious material that gives softness and warmth to the rug. The new size of Ø 190 cm was perfect for the destination surface.
Even the choice of colors has been studied in detail. Warm, earth/turtledove, cream shades were selected, in harmony with an environment enriched by a mocha leather sofa and a mocha oak living room cabinet.
