A project is born from an inspiration

What does the designer do, if not stylize the shapes of nature?

A source of infinite and powerful inspiration for all the arts, the spectacle of what happens in heaven and on earth continues to be the initial pretext even in contemporary style design.

This is what happens with the Eclipsis collection, presented in the IMAGO catalogue of Platinum Custom Rugs, in which the alignment of celestial bodies gave the creative inspiration to a series of subjects. Here the operation of subtraction was taken to the extreme: the multiform evolutions of nature were translated into compositions of essential lines and geometric shapes.

In particular, in the design of ECLIPSIS.QUATTRO variant A, what remains is the nocturnal suggestion of a blue moon that peeps through the blocks of an imaginary city, in a surreal and dreamlike atmosphere, timeless, in which everything appears suspended.

The color palette revolves around the dark blue of the large central circle, both spatial and chromatic reference.

Construction and choice of yarn

The choice of wool yarn, and the technique of Hand-Tufted, which ensures density and thickness to the fleece, help to convey the sense of welcome and recollection that this carpet communicates.

Textiles will be a strong element of interior design, and will give a strong imprint to the general character of the room for which it was designed.
The reflective calm of the blue is also associated with the idea of a still silence, in which we imagine that we can even feel the heartbeat of our heart, which slows down in calm, preparing for relaxation, conversation or a pleasant professional negotiation.

The designer’s suggestion for the finishes and coatings is related to the sense of an evening, urban environment: the cold colors of the night are combined with a gray marble, with evident black veins, and a blue velvet armchair, an enveloping seat, perfectly in palette with the rug, which remains the protagonist, fulcrum of the perceptive room.
