At the recently concluded Salone del Mobile, we have definitively launched our “all-around” furnishing concept. The new Orbita circular rug production, signed by Platinum Custom Rugs and presented at the fair, undoubtedly interprets the near future of interior design. Our booth highlighted the potential of this design concept that emphasizes the roundness and universality of the carpet.
A rug design that adapts to any space and lifestyle.
At Platinum Custom Rugs, we have always looked at rug design as an opportunity to generate emotions and sensations. In this sense, circularity offers a new perspective on how carpet production can be rethought to create welcoming and comfortable environments. The booth created by Platinum Custom Rugs at the Salone del Mobile aimed to recreate the same harmony, comfort, and protection that people can find in their homes. The circular shape of the rugs – vertically suspended in space, just like orbiting elements around the furnishing planet – gave a sense of welcoming and gentle movement. The lights and shapes, but especially the ethereal colors, created a strong sense of connection between visitors and the environment. The chromatic atmosphere, based on cosmic blue tones, was designed to put people at the center of a new sensation of comfort.
The rug exhibition was the center of gravity of the booth. It attracted the curious eyes of architects, furnishing professionals, or simple visitors who approached the Orbita sample library and experienced the great work behind each proposal firsthand. But the circular rug was not the only protagonist: we also wanted to enrich the booth experience with a retro-style carpet design in the Inedita and Classici collections, where the taste of tradition intertwines with a more contemporary restyling under the eye of Platinum Custom Rugs. In short, we involved skilled craftsmen and designers from our Style Office to create a fair visit experience that was tactile, visual, auditory, totally immersed in the beauty of our rug production, and above all complete.
